Managers & Coaches:
If you've signed up to coach or manage a team for this season (completed the coaching paperwork and background check information), we want to THANK YOU!
During the weeks of January28th through February 9th, player and team counts will finally lead to forming and drafting teams! Each team in every age group will have one manager. A team may have either two or three coaches (depending on the division). The teams in the younger divisions have more coaches than upper divisions, for obvious reasons.
It's a busy week for us, with the forming of teams, and once we have a better picture of how many teams we will have based on our player counts, we will contact MANAGERS. That means, if you filled out the coaching form and chose to coach instead of manage a team, your MANAGER will get a hold of you after we notify them they've been assigned a team. We want to notify all managers by the end of the week so they are certain they need to be at the Pancake Breakfast Saturday, February 10th, 2024 at Mountain View Middle School so they can meet their team members and parents. When we call the manager to let them know they have been assigned a team, they are also given the information to contact their coach of record. In some divisions, there's just one coach of record. In younger divisions, there may be 2 or even 3, depending on age division. If you signed up to coach and you're not called by a manager before the pancake breakfast, once you arrive at the Pancake Breakfast yourself, you can let your child's coach know you've finished the paperwork and are getting your background check and can be another assistant on the team. But, to be honest, if you signed up to coach, or manage, you can pretty much be sure we need your help and you're assigned to a team.
Thanks for your patience, in advance, during this week of forming teams and prepping for the season.
Once the Pancake Breakfast is over, we hold a Mandatory Managers meetings (same day as the Pancake breakfast) in the afternoon.

-Helpful Tips About Field Closures and Rain Outs
1.) If you're waiting for information about a field closure due to bad weather or poor field conditions, remember that NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS.
2.) Usually the decision about field closures is made by 3 p.m. at the latest, but there are exceptions when the weather takes an unpredictable turn.
3.) As soon as we get the notice that fields are closed, we post it immediately to Facebook first, then to the website, and at the same time, Team Parents and managers are being notified via text.
4.) Practice schedule games won't be made up, so if you had a game today and it was rained out, don't expect a makeup game. BUT, when your team is in POOL PLAY, those games will be made up. (Pool play and practice play schedule differences only apply to upper division teams for ages 7 and up)
5.) Sometimes it may not make sense to you why fields are closed when it seems the weather is okay, or why they're NOT closed when it seems the weather is CRAZY! Just remember, the decision is made based on the safety of the field for your players. We have had days when fields are closed and it's beautiful and sunny outside - that's because the standing water on the dirt of the fields isn't soaking in and creating a muddy situation for a game. Sometimes it's sprinkling out and people are wondering why we're not closing fields - that's because we're amateur meteorologists and we're looking closely at as many details as we can to avoid closing the fields if they're in playable conditions and a slight rain might clear up soon.
6.) Anyone having to forfeit a game NEEDS to let us know ASAP - Umpire scheduling gets tricky, so your communication with us helps out greatly - text: to let us know if your team will be forfeiting your game. Also, if you assume games are cancelled and fields are closed but they officially are not, then your team, by not being there, will be forfeiting. Please do not ASSUME field closures or cancellations, wait for the official word.
7.) The last thing we want is closed fields. First thing we want is safe kids.
Thanks! And have a great season, hopefully full of sunshine and green grass and dry fields. :)
