BYBSB ♥s TEAM PARENTS!
Why? Because you tie the shoes, you pull the helmets on and off, you secure the armor, you know who's on snack duty, you find sweatshirts when players are cold, and you hold them when they're too hot, sort out gloves and hats, you root for your team, you tie the hair bows, and you smile and come back for more the next game! We SINCERELY thank you for the time you are volunteering toward your child's team.
As a team parent, you help set the tone for participation on your team.
Our Team Parent Coordinator for the 2024 Fall/Spring Season is Jen Olson. If you have any questions, please direct them to her attention by sending an email to [email protected]

-Helpful Tips About Field Closures and Rain Outs
1.) If you're waiting for information about a field closure due to bad weather or poor field conditions, remember that NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS.
2.) Usually the decision about field closures is made by 3 p.m. at the latest, but there are exceptions when the weather takes an unpredictable turn.
3.) As soon as we get the notice that fields are closed, we post it immediately to Facebook first, then to the website, and at the same time, Team Parents and managers are being notified via text.
4.) Practice schedule games won't be made up, so if you had a game today and it was rained out, don't expect a makeup game. BUT, when your team is in POOL PLAY, those games will be made up. (Pool play and practice play schedule differences only apply to upper division teams for ages 7 and up)
5.) Sometimes it may not make sense to you why fields are closed when it seems the weather is okay, or why they're NOT closed when it seems the weather is CRAZY! Just remember, the decision is made based on the safety of the field for your players. We have had days when fields are closed and it's beautiful and sunny outside - that's because the standing water on the dirt of the fields isn't soaking in and creating a muddy situation for a game. Sometimes it's sprinkling out and people are wondering why we're not closing fields - that's because we're amateur meteorologists and we're looking closely at as many details as we can to avoid closing the fields if they're in playable conditions and a slight rain might clear up soon.
6.) Anyone having to forfeit a game NEEDS to let us know ASAP - Umpire scheduling gets tricky, so your communication with us helps out greatly - text: to let us know if your team will be forfeiting your game. Also, if you assume games are cancelled and fields are closed but they officially are not, then your team, by not being there, will be forfeiting. Please do not ASSUME field closures or cancellations, wait for the official word.
7.) The last thing we want is closed fields. First thing we want is safe kids.
Thanks! And have a great season, hopefully full of sunshine and green grass and dry fields. :)
